This week I had an MRI to see if the meniscus in one of my knees is damaged. The MRI was ordered by my doctor who wanted to look deeper into the structure of my knee to evaluate what is taking place. 

We are in need of a Spirit-led MRI-like spiritual inquiry into the affairs of this world. Events are transpiring on a global scale that are going unnoticed by many in the Church who are caught up in passing skirmishes about personal opinion or worse, they are completely unaware of what the global Church is facing. Some continue to play prophetic volleyball tossing back and forth affirming words while they remain blind to what their brothers and sisters in distant lands are about to encounter. We seem to have an astounding ability to ignore the larger issues taking place outside our personal geography and relationships thinking those distant issues are not part of our life of faith.

One of the most dangerous threats on a global scale are failing political leaders who need a diversion to cause the people they govern to look away from their failed policies and declining economies. Once the control measures used to deploy those failed policies and force compliance to a political agenda are found to no longer work, a war halfway around the world becomes a sad alternative to jump-start a dying economy and rally the populace. We are entering one of those dangerous junctures of history.

This is a time when wisdom would have us look deeper than the prepared script of what we have been asked to accept as truth. We need to hear what the Spirit is saying.  The Lord is shaking His Church awake from slumber with truth – a truth that will be uncomfortable to ears that have become deaf to reality. No matter what transpires in the coming days, take courage, “We are receiving a Kingdom that is unshakeable” (Hebrews 12: 28).
