We live with a hope that is a certainty. God links us to eternity and immortality with Him. Jan and I have been pondering what it will be like to pierce that veil. We’ve processed the loss of our parents and dear friends. We have been part of multiple families who experienced the loss of a parent, a spouse, or a child. We have listened to their memories and their sorrows that can’t be fully expressed. As one person said, grieving means you are human, and your ache doesn’t expire by a certain time.
Our hope is in a Heaven that is real. At our age, we can feel and see more clearly what is actually true for any age—Heaven is our true Home. While we live to the fullest each day on Earth, each day is preparation for that grand arrival and reception. Our hope is in knowing and believing that the Lord is good—all the time—so we can trust Him for all the grace we need, when we need it.
The Lord made a promise to us when we face hardship: “I hold you by your right hand – I, the Lord your God. And I say to you, ‘Don’t be afraid. I am here to help you” (Isaiah 41:13).
Be a watchman on the wall and intercede, keenly aware to watch over the word of the Lord until it is fulfilled. Wait and watch for Him to move on your behalf. He will never go back on His word.
