I’ve been pondering what it looks like to live only by God’s word—like Jesus did. He said that without Him, we can do nothing (John 15:5). How can we gain the essence of such wisdom? We can come out of darkness into wisdom’s light when we live in awe, reverence, and love of God.

If we believe we can do nothing without Him, it means He can interrupt our agenda with His authority. In His holiness, He will expose and convict. He will move as He wants and speak what He wants in our family gatherings. 

When we follow His ways and live by His words, we are agreeing with Him that all the strength and power we need flows from Him. All the love we need is found in Him (see Psalm 62:11-12; 103:17-18).

We remember the fallout from demanding our own way, and wanting our own truth to fit our worldview—foolishly scorning correction and true wisdom and knowledge. We are reminded daily of this by what we see and hear in the world around us. 

May there be an ever-increasing passion to live by His word and be submitted to His rulership. It is an act of worship and a sign of being filled with His Spirit.

Words that give us wisdom to empower us to take dominion over chaos and ruin and to reign in life.

Words that discipline us to demonstrate wisdom in every relationship and to choose what is right and just and fair.

Words that make the wise even wiser and more discerning—able to acquire brilliant strategies for leadership.

Words that give us the skills to teach the youth to make them wise, and to give them understanding of their design and destiny.

Ask Jesus for His heart, His thoughts, His truth, His ways, and He will answer. When He gives you instruction, obey Him. When you obey, He will act on your behalf and everything changes!
