If you are exhausted about the condition of the world and feeling a sense of despair, don’t forget this one reality – “For the Lord will cause something new to happen” (Jeremiah 31:22). This won’t be a distant fulfillment of a promise for someone else – it’s for you and all who call on the name of the Lord. Walk in that expectancy and the eyes of your faith will be opened allowing you to see the new thing when it finally arrives.

The wilderness experience of Israel presents us with an example of “something new.”
In Egypt, Israel lived in houses. In the wilderness they lived in tents. Where did these tents come from?
In the wilderness, Israel grazed sheep, goats, and cattle.
In the wilderness, Israel sacrificed these animals and also birds.
The tabernacle contained large quantities of significant, high quality materials (porpoise skins, linens, exotic dyes, bronze, acacia wood, etc.). Where did they come from?
God can indeed do a new thing to fulfill his promise, to fuel our purpose, and to bring glory to His Son!
