You have most likely heard the statements, “Show me the evidence” or “What are your sources?” These can be honest inquiries of fact, and in many cases, are justified. But there are times when God is about to do something so new that no evidence is yet available because what was promised has never happened before. Our faith is tested the most in these places where the evidence or sources needed to back up our posture of belief are not yet available. In this place of raw faith is where we have only one option to offer in response to the demands being made. That one option is to “Be still and know that I am God” (Psalm 46:10). In the stillness of trust, we wait for God to perform what He promised.
