WE HAVE ENTERED A PERILOUS TIME

As we get ready to gather around our tables to share Thanksgiving with loved ones, a national emergency is developing. It has been reported that in the United States we have approximately 20 days remaining of diesel fuel reserves. Unless something changes, trucks that deliver food to our markets, the buses that take our kids to school, and the tractors that plant and harvest our food will become immobile and silent. This sounds like the stuff of hysteria and wild conspiracy theory, but it is a looming reality.

For some strange and unimaginable reason, our government has drawn down the supply of our Strategic Petroleum Reserve that has been set aside for national emergencies and times of war, not to use for a political advantage during an election cycle. Our fuel reserves are being sold to other nations, some of which are hostile toward America. We just sold some of our reserves to China. While our reserves are now at historic lows, we are begging nations like Venezuela and Saudi Arabia to sell oil back to America.

In certain parts of the Church, some think we can turn a blind eye to such foolishness and not voice opposition because it would sound too “political.”  The fear of voicing opposition has silenced some within the Church because they have been programmed to believe speaking the truth might be offensive. If leaders in the Church are silent in such times, they will forfeit their authority to lead while the people under their care continue to suffer uninformed of what is causing their suffering.

Loving our neighbor as ourselves is not a static slogan printed on a decorative wall plaque or a sermon point. It requires the traction of prayer and speaking the truth in love regarding the pain foolish political leaders and social engineers create that causes sorrow and suffering to the masses. If any of us becomes silent, we become a deafened tool in the hands of the enemy of our soul who delights in bringing suffering through our uniformed inaction.

Sadly, the Christian church has become proficient at programming its people. My prayer is that the Spirit of Truth will teach each one Father’s ways and bring instruction to keep them now and in the days ahead.

    Very good, timely post, Garris.

What this country needs is another “Great Awakening”, a time lost in the history of our great Country that began in the pulpit. An interesting article can be found here:

It became a time of renewed faith during the formation of our Country.
