A TACTICAL RELOAD

From time to time we need to top off our faith in spiritual warfare. No matter what we see around us, it’s important to keep our faith alive and functional should the need arrive to engage the enemy of our faith.

Training people with a weapon requires that we do what is called a tactical reload. It’s after expending rounds from your weapon, when there is a pause in the conflict, we need to top off our weapon by inserting a new magazine just to be ready for what may come. It keeps us in the fight should things go south.

In our faith, we must be filled up and topped off because what is happening in our world may require a full magazine. It’s not about letting our faith go empty and then trying to change magazines under fire. It’s about being able to stay in the fight.

I Timothy 4:1 tells us what happens when our measure of faith is placed in anything other than Jesus, “Now the Holy Spirit tells us clearly that in the last times, some will turn away from the true faith; they will follow deceptive spirits and teachings that come from demons.“ There are many other things we can use to do a tactical reload that will have little effect on the onslaught of hell. These things have no power to confront the evil we will face. Some are even deceptive spirits and teachings from a demon.

When the conflict heats up and you have a moment to do a tactical reload, make sure you reload the nature of Jesus. All else will fail when the fighting heats up. “When you explain these things to the brothers and sisters Timothy, you will be a worthy servant of Christ Jesus, one who is nourished by the message of faith and the good teaching you have followed” (I Timothy 4:6).

It is time to do a tactical reload. Once you are topped off, you can face whatever comes your way. You will be fully prepared by the message of faith in Jesus Christ you have received and have not abandoned.

Sometimes in battle, troops run short of ammunition or weapons, and do a “reload” by confiscating enemy armaments. Until recently, national armies’ armament was custom and intentionally incompatible. The adoption of 5.56mm and 7.62mm ammunition triggered the exchangability revolution.

    John,
I wonder if this verse might apply. Taking away the enemy’s resources?

“A good man leaves an inheritance to his children’s children, And the wealth of the sinner is stored up for [the hands of] the righteous.”
