The prophecy from Zephaniah is only three chapters long, but it is a panoramic view of what happens to a nation that abandons the Lord. Though their days were dark and foreboding because of their disobedience, with God, there would be hope for their future if they...
Last night, I had an odd dream. I was standing in a field with a group of pastors. One of the pastors, a prominent leader in the Church, walked away in disgust when I mentioned the word “morality”. He said that teaching morality was a mistake as he walked away from us...
Each morning, as I water the plants in our front yard, a little hummingbird comes and sits on a wire that runs atop our Rose of Sharon tree. Its appearance is like clockwork. The hummingbird even sat patiently for me while I went inside our home to retrieve my phone...
In a time of prayer, I saw puppets dancing at the end of strings being manipulated by puppet masters. As I continued to pray, I saw a pair of scissors enter the image and snip the strings. When the controlling strings were cut the puppets began to fall to the ground....
Something is taking place that I've never seen before. Banks are beginning to limit withdrawal amounts. It’s your money or your retirement funds so why the limit? If making a substantial withdrawal, you might be asked like I was just the other day, “What are you using...
After the resurrection of Jesus, the Lord appeared to His disciples on several occasions to confirm He was alive. He had one mission in mind during those appearances, “And He talked to them about the Kingdom of God” (Acts 1:3). He didn’t talk about politics, sports,...
I started writing this article several times trying to tamp down any offense it might create in the reader. I was trying to write about fear and how it motivates leaders to commit ungodly acts and realized it was fear that was causing me to write and rewrite these...
What is visible in our testimony that tells the world we are followers of Jesus? It is a supernatural peace we experience in times of suffering that cannot be explained and makes no sense to an unrenewed mind. This kind of peace can only be experienced by a follower...
Don’t expect everyone to believe everything you share regarding an experience with God, especially when that experience is outside the realm of human logic and reasoning. In their inability to personally process these experiences, they choose to become a critic. There...
In a moment of prayer, I saw the image of a follower of Jesus walking through a landscape filled with castles. These were not tall and majestic stone castles like the ones you would see on a vacation in Europe. They were small, knee-high castles resembling a child’s...
When I pray for leaders, I pray they would be courageous and follow the leading of the Spirit. I pray they would break away from the prepared script scrolling before them on a teleprompter or from a written text they have been handed and told to read. I ask the Lord...
I have often wondered how we express our faith today would differ from the faith expressed by the disciples who lived in the first century. For those disciples, there was a common theme – persecution. Just before Jesus was arrested, He spent several hours with His...
In the coming weeks, the United States will participate in mid-term elections. I would like to offer a suggested voter’s guide for those who have not sipped the Kool-Aid of insanity being served each day on some of our media outlets and from compromised leaders within...
I’ve seen a Kingdom principle demonstrated by global financial consultants. They see the world financial market as an interconnected whole, not just a stand-alone national market. The advice they offer to financial planners is based on something much larger and...
No stone-like wall of censorship, no accusation nor any threat of restriction formed by an unbelieving world can prevent the revelation of God’s truth from penetrating these obstacles. There are other walls – walls of accusation, and dismissal. or outright disgust in...
