When uttered, a single comment reveals a person’s lack of understanding regarding human history. It also limits the inclusion of a contradicting narrative to what they have been told to believe. That comment is, “This has never happened before.” When God is involved, what has been considered an impossibility becomes a possibility. Faith defines history – past, present, and future. Always follow faith. It will lead you to a God-outcome that was dismissed by those who allowed doubt, not faith, to form their thinking and direct their steps.
Thank you, Garris, for your constant battle to take the dumb out of Christendom. About faith, we miss the mark when we see faith as something we somehow muster up when the scripture clearly says that Jesus is the author and finisher of (our) faith. Our, of course, was not in the original but was added by translators to comply with grammar niceties. Would this not then underscore that faith, belonging to Christ, is something we accept and allow rather than manufacture on our own?
