Reading the Old Testament prophets can scare some people. They read the harsh treatment of God upon the rebellion of His people and miss the point that before God’s harshness was displayed the people had plenty of opportunity to repent. They confuse God’s judgment...
I read a phrase that connected me to a time in my past life. I first heard the phrase when I became a cop. The phrase is “Old School.” It can refer to old timers in any field of endeavor who have been there and done that. The phrase and its meaning stirred my memories...
Over the years, I've had people who were personally connected to me walk away from our relationship without offering any explanation for their departure. After repeated attempts to reach out and make things right, I was never given a response. In the process of our...
With the election now behind us, and the painful process of national healing set before us, I am taking time to review the prophetic words I released in the weeks leading up to November 8. To be honest, I had no idea who would win the race for the White House. I wish...
If you are carrying rocks of judgment with the intent to verbally stone a prophet for getting a word wrong, it is time to drop the rocks. Stoning is part of an expired covenant. Pray for those who tried their best to hear God and are now licking their wounds and...
Last week, I had a three-hour layover at the Chicago O’Hare Airport. During the wait, I used the time to schedule some appointments on my phone calendar, one being a conference call. After I scheduled the conference call my next flight was announced. I got up and...
I have learned that being prophetic is not limited to the prediction of a future event or a word of encouragement. It also includes the revelation of unseen pathways of hope that are often hidden beneath the intensity of human emotion. This morning both President...
Last week, I posted a word about a supernatural portal opening up over the northwest region of the United States. When the Lord revealed that portal to me it literally took my breath away. It was a magnificent image. With that vision, God made it very clear to me He...
As we enter the final hours before the election results are known, we are holding our collective breath. We are like someone who was handed an envelope with an important notice inside. As the envelope is placed in our hands and we begin to open it up, we draw in our...
We are in the final stretch of a spiritual conflict that resembles a relay race. A baton is being delivered to the final runner who will carry it across the finish line. You are the final runner in this race. A baton of truth and a baton of error are both fast...
We are at a turning point in our national history. The direction we finally take at that turning point will not come from a perceived victory in a political battle. It will be the outcome of the highest form of spiritual warfare. How we wage this battle will...
As I was reading through all the morning after comments about the Chicago Cubs win during an extra inning at the World Series, I could not help but think the win represents what God is about to do in some of your lives. When all the superstition and disappointment has...
Recently, I heard the Lord say, “I am redrawing the borders”. As I continued to listen, He said, “I am redrawing the borders of your spiritual authority and revealing new spheres of influence. The resulting realignment will reveal lines of authority only seen in the...
For years, I have always wanted to write things that give people hope. I have believed that hope, not judgment, is the way forward. Today, I write this as an introduction to a video my wife, Jan, had the courage to post yesterday. To be honest, I wondered if posting...
Back in the early 80’s, while driving with Jan on the streets of Los Angeles, a car full of gangbangers pulled up alongside our car as we sat at an intersection waiting for the light to change. I had only been a pastor for a short time and apparently still carried a...
